The Bathroom

Let me remind you of what we are working with...lol

Can you believe that this is one of the pictures that was on the listing? lol  I guess we just are not afraid of much.

The fear that we did have was, "Is this water damage that we see"?  Turns out so far, it is pet damage more than water damage.  Well... OK.

After 2 hours of scrubbing, the tub is now clean and other than where the former owner screwed into the tub surround, there really is no damage to the tub/shower.  Soap People!

Let's say something positive about this picture.  Yay! I love the wall behind the sink and the sink isn't cracked. lol  Yucky, Yucky is all of the mold in the vanity.  I would not be opposed to replacing it.

There are some fun things that you can do with a bathroom.  It seems like the good old days are coming back.  Check this out!

This is a fun look, bit too retro for me but I love a lot of it.  The towel rack is awesome!  To use an old window with mirror is pure genius!  I think I would stick with a real sink though.

I can't think of a better set of lights above that sink than these.  I really do like them but I actually bought a set of brass lamps and brass bathroom fixtures.  I think they would look pretty with the wood behind the sink.  I did look under the vanity and through the back and the wood goes all the way down.  That's a good thing.

If you like this soap dispenser, go to Pinterest and get the tutorial.  It seems simple. I will try it.

Now back to the first picture...

What you don't see is what is behind that wall.  There is a linen cabinet that is about 4 feet wide and has accordion doors.  Now, if I had my way, we would replace the tub with a shower stall like the one below.  What I like is the walk in design, the roomy size and the extra room that it would give to the linen closet area.

If we did change up for the shower stall, I could easily move the washer and dryer from the "laundry room" to the bathroom.  I really want the "laundry room" to be a sunny breakfast nook.

As is, a nice stacking washer and dryer will fit in the area anyway.  Putting in 220W power and a vent for the dryer in should not be a problem either, unless... under the bathroom is a wall of dirt.  This could be a problem.  I will let you know as we go along.  Well enough for today, ta ta for now, Beth
