The Kitchen

I have struggled with how to blog about the progress in the kitchen.
I know that I need to take more pictures along the way and do a little
before and after photo shoot, but are you interested in the progress
along the way?

Do you want to know my theme, colors, curtains, flooring, and Formica?
I will just have to assume that you do and if you don't, bare with please.

Here at our house we have a gaggle of chickens.  We have 2 roosters and 6
chickens. We used to have a big bunny but it has now disappeared and is
presumed deceased. (Story at 5),lol.  Joking aside, he has definitely
disappeared and it has been a few months since we have seen him.  We free
range most of our pets so he could have just wandered off, yes that is it,
he has wandered off. So my point is, I love a rooster, farm theme. Before my computer crashed in January of this year, I had been collecting snap shots, pix, etc, of rooster/farm stuff that I eventually wanted.  But... I lost it all. (sniff, sniff)!  This may or may not be good news for all of you. Your choice.

I did pin a whole bunch of them on lots of boards on Pinterest and you can find my profile there to see them. Most of my deco ideas are posted to the Stylish Accessories board or on the Wall Art board. Poke around at the other boards and get to know me better. xoxox Let's see if I can make a link here.  Here

The colors that I have picked for my kitchen at the Lake house go quite
well with the French Rooster curtains that I have installed.  The paint
colors are called, Vanilla Latte, Mission Brown, Farmhouse Red, Palatial White, and Summerwood. They are all Behr Paint colors.

On the website for Behr there is an awesome mock-up tool that you can use with your colors that you choose that allows you to "paint" the rooms.  I have used this for 2 rooms so far.  In an earlier post I posted the bedroom colors with a mock-up. Here is the kitchen.

I am so in love with everything in this picture!  Great news, I have all of the paint colors here. This is so close to what I want it to look like that I can already see myself standing at that sink! The counter top also looks like the laminate that I have already.  Big score from Craigslist, can't beat free.

The upper cabinets will look different though.  I have chosen to take the cabinet doors off, paint the shelves the same vanilla latte as the walls, but keep the back of the cabinets red.  Remember that red, white, and blue kitchen that was in the house when we found it?  The red is already there.  If I can't get along with the red that is there, then... then... I will paint it with the Farmhouse Red.

This is the paint chip for the red.  I love it.  The red that is there is kinda a patriotic red. Nice too.

I have also been playing with different ideas for the flooring too.  I can get vinyl that looks almost exactly like this, but I have been thinking about vinyl that looks like tile too.  So much of our house has this pine floor (yay) already!  I thought I might switch up the kitchen, laundry room, and the bathroom.

It's called Bayside-Heartland-Timbers-Walnut

This one is Bristal-Gateway-Stone.

Aren't those checked curtains in the mock-up just super cute with these colors?  These curtains that I have were the first decorator items that I bought from Walmart for our home. Roosters!

I feel like this enough for one post and I can re-visit the rest of the kitchen some other time.  So ta ta for now, Beth
